- Caught Stealing - Charlie Huston. Recommended by the owner of Mystery on Main in Brattleboro, Vermont. This was a cracking book.

- Silas Marner - George Eliot (or Silas Mariner according to hubby! He's waiting for them to set sail). Hubby says he really enjoyed it even though no one went sailing

- The Curse of the Pharoahs - Elizabeth Peters. Yet another series I've got sucked in to
- The Good Husband of Zebra Drive - Alexander McCall Smith. Lovely,as always, but not as good as others in the series
- Under Orders - Dick Francis. My first ever book by this author
- Crewel World - Monica Ferris. What a title for a mystery book sent in a needlework shop! Loved it
- The Same Sweet Girls - Cassandra King. Chick-lit for my fluffy brain
- Hamish Macbeth:Death of a Maid - MC Beaton. Another mystery series for me to get addicted to
- Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides. Took me forever to read, but I really enjoyed it
- The Pilot's Wife - Anita Shreve. Easy read = a good thing
- The Namesake - Jhumpa Lahiri. Liked this one
- The Joy Luck Club - Amy Tan. not as good as the others of hers I've read
- Queen of Broken Hearts - Cassandra King
- Bon Bon Voyage - Nancy Fairbanks. Dreadful book!
- Agatha Raisin & the Deadly Dance - MC Beaton
- Me Talk Pretty One Day - David Sedaris. V funny, especially the bit about Americans being LOUD
- The Bonesetter's Daughter - Amy Tan
- Tuesdays with Morrie - Mitch Albom. Read it in a single two-hour sitting. Loved it.
- Boudica - Manda Scott. It's a whopper.
- Deception Point - Dan Brown. Needs must when there are no book shops in sight
- The Other Boleyn girl - Philippa Gregory
- A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini. The latest book club book, NOT a light-hearted holiday read! But excellent nonetheless.
- The Hundred Secret Senses - Amy Tan. Liked this a lot, v funny
- Can You Keep a Secret - Sophie Kinsella. Typical chick-lit, just what I needed
- Alpine For You - Maddy Hunter. Murder in Switzerland. Got to love the title!
- The Poisonwood Bible - Barbara Kingsolver. Excellent book, many thanks for recommendation GM!
- The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants - Ann Mashares. Never heard of it before but liked the title; it was ok, but not brilliant. Reminded me of a Judy Blume...
- Shopaholic and Baby - Sophie Kinsella. Trashy chick-lit; latest in the 'Shopaholic' series
- The History of Love - Nicole Klauss. Liked v much. A bit sad but v clever.
- A Spot of Bother - Mark Haddon. V good book.
- Espresso Tales - Alexander McCall Smith. 2nd in the 44 Scotland St series
- Life & Times of the Thunderbolt Kid - Bill Bryson. Loved this book, would recommend totally. Wish I'd lived in the USA in the 1950s!
- Agatha Raisin & the Haunted House - MC Beaton. 14th in the Agatha Raisin series; enjoyed greatly, as always
- See Delphi & Die - Lindsey Davis. Umpteenth in the Falco series; not the best by a long way.
- The House at Riverton - Kate Morton. Liked this one v much
